Judge Wayne Mallia is a second generation OCPS graduate, Class of 1979.  He is Judge of the 405th Judicial District Court in Galveston County, Texas, which is an elected position that he has held unopposed since 2000.  He and his wife Sherri of 18 years have two children, Corey and Madeleine.  Cory is currently a freshman at O’Connell College Preparatory School.  Judge Mallia has held leadership positions with the Galveston County Young Lawyer’s Association and Bar Association.  He is has been an active board member of OCPS since 2007 and is an ardent supporter of Catholic Education in Galveston County.

 

Addie Earthman Pappous is a native of Houstonian and has resided in Galveston for 16 years.  She is a member of the Junior League of Galveston County, serving as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer in the organization.  She is the proud mother of three boys.  She has been a member of the OCPS Board of Directors since 2006 and is committed to the growth and stability of Catholic education.  She is a member of Holy Family Parish.

 

Michaela Norris is a proud parent of a graduate of OCPS – Class of 2010.  She is a certified public accountant and currently serves as the Secretary of the OCPS Board of Directors.  She was a member of the Brazoria County Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors.  She has over 25 years of accounting experience.

 

LeeRoy Amador is currently the Chief of Police of the Galveston Independent School District.  He and his wife Candie are the proud parents of two sons who graduated from OCPS in 2002 and 2004.  Both attended University of Texas A&M in College Station. Brandon graduated as an Industrial Engineer and Adam will graduate in 2010 with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. Mr. Amador retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety after 26 ½ years of continued service.  He was an active 20 year committee member for the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Calf Scramble Division, a current member of the Police Chiefs Independent School Districts of Texas and retains a Fourth Degree with the Knight of Columbus. He is a member of The Shrine of True Cross Parish in Dickinson and resides in Santa Fe, Texas.

 

Michael Christiansen is a graduate of OCPS – Class of 1978. He is the Executive Vice President of Moody National Bank, where he began his career in 1982.  He has served as UTMB Children’s Hospital Auction Chairman as well as other civic organizations.  He also serves on the Finance Committee at OCPS.

 

Cynda Mullikin is the former Director of Recruitment for John Brown University.  She has taken the OCPS College Prep Program to new heights in the 2009-2010 school year.  Through her management, the 43 students graduating in 2010 collectively garnered over $700,000 in collegiate scholarships.  She has developed the four-year College Prep Program enabling students at OCPS to leverage their academic and extra-curricular achievements in order to attend university upon graduation.

 

Sissy McKenna has lived in Galveston for over 26 years.  A staunch supporter of Catholic education, her husband John McKenna is an OCPS graduate Class of 1974 along with their daughter Lauren who graduated in 2003.  Her husband John’s two sisters and brothers are also OCPS alumni.  She has worked for Holy Family Catholic School for over 14 years as a teacher, librarian, Dean of Instruction and administrative assistant.  She has also worked for Rice University’s School of Science Technology as a consultant.  She is an active member of Holy Family Parish and attends St. Patrick’s Church.
